Pick up a Nature Bingo Card from the Fish & Wildlife table and explore the property and interpretive signs along a Water Education Walking Tour.

Note that some clean-up spots do have age restrictions, but most are all ages welcoming kids and Boy Scout or Girl Scout troops to participate.

Join UCP and the American River Parkway Foundation for a family bike ride adventure on Saturday, November 15, 2025. Activities will include a bike ride along the American River Parkway and family-friendly nature crafts such as creating a colorful suncatcher and designing a botanical ornament with air-dry clay. Bring your bikes or reserve one from UCP while supplies last.
Holidays at Koobs will take place on Saturday, December 13, 2025. This free holiday event in the Koobs Nature Area will have visits with Santa, and crafts for families that include ornament making, and cookie decorating.

The 39th Annual Spring Fishing Derby will take place on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at Lumsden Park in Placerville. This is a rain or shine event for kids, preschool to 8th grade. Participants will need to bring their own fishing gear.
The Cosumnes River Preserve and Wilderness Inquiry will have a FREE Community Canoe Day on Saturday, April 11, 2026. This is a rain or shine event that anyone ages 8+ can attend from 9am to 12pm. Canoes and gear will be provided. No registration is required.
Join the Sacramento Audubon Society for a free family-friendly nature walk on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Effie Yeaw Nature Center at 9am. See if you can spot several birds! Binoculars available for loan. While this is a free event, there is a $7 vehicle parking fee.
