Birthday parties are available during the daytime on Saturday and Sunday, and after-hours (4:30pm to 6pm) on Friday to Sunday. A hidden gem for a birthday party is the Boathouse at Bridgeway Lakes in West Sacramento. This is a year-round rental on a scenic lake within Bridgeway Lakes Park. It’s particularly ideal in the summertime since kids will get to cool off in the seasonal splash pad, which is one of the best splash pads in the Sacramento area. However, rental rates run a little cheaper during non-summer months. There’s also a playground at Bridgeway Lakes Park. Just know that the splash pad and playground are public places, so partygoers can use the amenities, but will be sharing them with other families during parties.

Rental options include a community room or a community room and patio combination. Up to 75 guests are recommended. It’s an affordable hourly rental option, but nothing else is included besides the venue itself as it’s not a full-service rental. You will have to bring everything, including food and drinks, for this birthday party option. The Boathouse at Bridgeway Lakes does have many rules regarding decor. Reservations must be made at least 60 days in advance and require liability insurance. A refrigerator comes with the rental, which is a nice bonus. Bounce houses are allowed in the park only. They require an additional park rental application, permit, and extra insurance. Chairs and tables come with the rental but will not be set up in advance.

Compared to most other birthday party options at popular indoor playgrounds, if kids don’t care about sharing the playground, then this is one of the better and more affordable birthday party options out there. Private party prices significantly increase. Another party to make note of is the Peek-A-Boo Factory Princess Party Package. This party includes a visit from a princess in Peek-A-Boo Factory’s princess room.

Some of the themes include a Pirate Party in Pirates Cove, a Royal Party in King Arthur’s Castle, and a Green Thumb Party in Mr. McGregor’s Garden. I love how the party themes match the locations within Fairytale Town, where they will take place. Additionally, two activity options that correspond to the party theme can be chosen from a list of fun activities. Themed parties range from 60-90 minutes and include a party host. Note that some themed parties are not available year-round.

In addition to themed birthday parties at Fairytale Town in William Land Regional Park, self-serve rental spaces at specific locations in the park, such as Sherwood Forest and Pooh Corner, are also available for rentals.

North Natomas Regional Park is one of the best parks in Sacramento for families, and the group picnic area with a shade structure is available to rent. Park rentals tend to be the most affordable rental options. Park permits are required to host a party in North Natomas Regional Park. To acquire one, submit a park permit application.

As of 2026, it’s $55 per area or per 50 guests to rent a picnic area in North Natomas Regional Park. North Natomas Regional Park has a great shaded baseball-themed playground. In the summer, there’s an adjacent baseball-themed seasonal splash pad. Bounce houses (or “jump tents” as the City of Sacramento refers to them) with four walls are allowed in the park with a group area permit. Kids who love animals will especially appreciate a party host who gives a 15-minute animal presentation with an animal ambassador. Birthday parties are for two hours, and of course, train rides will be the highlight. Having been on this train, I can tell you that it’s very impressive as it chugs through waterfalls and winds through a miniature town for 10 to 15 minutes. Kids can expect possibly 4 train rides during the two-hour party rental. Party reservations also include operating train personnel, a covered picnic area, and access to a restroom.
