Kids will love conquering the interactive and zany obstacles in the Fair Oaks Summer Fun Run, and paddlers of all levels can get on the water during Paddlesplash at Lake Natoma. The new immersive Monet Expo also opens this month.

The Sacramento Zoo will have a $10 Community Day on July 3 & 4, 2025. Visit animals in Land Park on the 4th of July.
With a carnival, circus, and fireworks, Rancho Cordova will have the ultimate two-day family-friendly 4th of July celebration on July 3-4, 2025.
The Folsom Pro Rodeo takes place for three days from July 3-5, 2025. In addition to a thrilling rodeo tradition of bull riding, there is also plenty of family fun that will include fireworks, live music, activities for kids of all ages, and food.
Celebrate 4th of July in Sacramento at the California Automobile Museum. The day will include a Red, White, and Blue mini car show with various automobiles, activities for kids, museum exploration, and food will be available to purchase.
Take the kids to a Fourth of July Carnival for the afternoon on July 4, 2025 at the Christine Thompson Aquatic Center. This family-friendly event will have game booths with prizes, arts and crafts, temporary tattoos, and treats like nachos and ice cream.
Celebrate 4th of July in Elk Grove at the Salute to the Red, White and Blue at Elk Grove Regional Park. A drone show and fireworks show will take place at 9:30pm. There will be food trucks, a bike parade, and a concert before the fireworks.
Climb aboard the Placerville & Sacramento Valley Railroad (PSVRR) for a 4th of July Weekend BBQ Express train ride from Oak Station to Willow Springs in Folsom on July 5-6, 2025. Folsom Handcar Derby volunteers will pump your family down the track on an 1800s-style handcar ride!
Blast off to the Aerospace Museum for Roaring Rockets on Saturday, Juy 5, 2025, from 10am to 2pm. The day will be filled with interactive STEM-themed activities.
The 2025 California State Fair returns to Cal Expo from July 11 – 27, 2025. Enjoy pavilions full of exhibits, fair food, rides, entertainment, and so much more.
West Side Story brings “Tonight,” “Maria,” and more of its show stopping songs to Sacramento. As part of Broadway at Music Circus, West Side Story will run from July 11-17, 2025 at the UC Davis Health Pavilion.

Get on the water during the annual three-day Paddlespash SUP Festival on July 25-27, 2025 at Lake Natoma. All levels of paddlers are welcome to participate. The most popular races are the 2, 5, and 8 mile races. There is also a Grom short course race for kids on Sunday, July 27, 2025.
Conquer fun obstacles like an inflatable water slide and navigate through the slime zone during the Fair Oaks Summer Fun on Saturday, July 26, 2025. This 1.2 mile course for kids will take place in Phoenix Park.
Celebrate a vibrant morning of chalk art at Chalk Your Walk on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at Vernon Street Town Square in Roseville. The Sacramento County Office of Education will host a free Family Fun & Playfest on Saturday July 26, 2025 at Fairytale Town. Note that RSVPs are full for this event. However, families are still welcome to attend, they may just not receive educational materials or food without a registration.
