Things to Do in Sacramento This Weekend with Kids (May 8–10, 2026)
Moms are always superstars, and this weekend it’s all about them. Mother’s Day brunch is a given, but there are other fun Mother’s Day events happening, from a relaxing Mother’s Day Paddle in Lodi to a crafty day of Mother’s Day Bouquet and Bracelet Making Workshop to some friendly competition at a Mother’s Day Kickball Game.
This weekend is also the Spring Chicken Festival at Fog Willow Farms (and moms get in free on Mother’s Day). It’s one of our family’s favorite spring activities in Sacramento! The Rocklin Community Festival brings entertainment and rides, and there’s a big community bash at Folsom’s 80th Birthday Celebration.
Kids can get up close to a variety of animals at Wildlife Wonders at the Maidu Museum in Roseville. Plus, families can have a sweet weekend at the BerryFest Strawberry Festival at the Yolo County Fairgrounds.
No matter what you decide to do this weekend, Sactown Supermom wishes all the amazing moms a spectacular (and hopefully relaxing) Mother’s Day! Moms—you are doing an amazing job.

Best Things To Do This Weekend in Sacramento with Kids
The Rocklin Community Festival will take place for four days from May 7-10, 2026. This free community event will occur in Johnson-Springview Park and have carnival rides, entertainment, vendors, and food. While the festival is free, ride wristbands will need to be purchased.
Fog Willow Farms will have its annual Spring Chicken Family Festival for only three days in 2026 over Mother’s Day Weekend, May 8-10, 2026. $12 per person from 9:30am to 6pm. On Mother’s Day, moms receive free admission and a small sweet treat.
BerryFest Strawberry Festival is a two-day family-friendly festival in Woodland taking place over Mother’s Day Weekend on May 9 & 10, 2026, celebrating the bounty of strawberry season at the Yolo County Fairgrounds.
Moms can participate in the 4th Annual Mother’s Day Kickball Game on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at the Brock Park Sports Complex in North Highlands. Moms and kids will compete against each other in a friendly game of kickball. Game begins at 9am.
Celebrate Mother’s Day at Killdeer Farms on Saturday, May 9, 2026 for a family-friendly day of live music, fresh flowers, coffee and mimosas, and more.
Celebrate Folsom’s 80th Birthday Celebration at a free community party on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at Folsom City Lions Park. There will be entertainment, carnival games, and lots of family fun. The 1st 500 youth guests will also get free entry to the Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary.
Kids will love getting close to check out animals at Wildlife Wonders on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at the Maidu Museum in Roseville. Go wild for animals like raccoons, owls, snakes, and skunks, while participating in animal-themed crafts.
Mission Oaks will have its 5th annual Spring Carnival on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Gibbons Park in Carmichael. There will be many activities for kids of all ages including carnival games, a bubble zone, petting zoo, art zone, crafts, and an obstacle course.
The Breathe Bike Festival in West Sacramento kicks off Bike Month with a free community event on Saturday, May 9, 2026. There will be family activities, helmet fittings, a pump track, and more.
Roseville will celebrate the completion of Phase 1 of the Dry Creek Greenway East Trail at a Grand Opening on Saturday, May 9, 2026. SMUD MOSAC will have a K-Pop Demon Hunters Laser Show on select Saturdays March to May 2026. Two show times will include 10:30am and 4pm. Museum admission is required for entry, and is an additional $5 for the Laser Show. Online advance purchase of tickets is recommended as shows are likely to sell out.
Celebrate Mom at a Mother’s Day Bouquet and Bracelet Making Workshop on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at BusyKids in Folsom. Moms will craft and create with their littles at your own pace. Each ticket includes 1 child and 1 adult.
Kids can enjoy a storytime with a princess at Fairytale Town on Saturday, May 9, 2026 from 11am to 12pm. This event is included with regular admission.
The Locke Foundation will have its Annual Asian Pacific Spring Festival on Saturday, May 9, 2026 on Main Street in Locke. This free family-friendly festival will have lion dances, taiko drums, arts and crafts, martial arts, and more.

Start Mother’s Day with a peaceful 90-minute family-friendly paddle at the Lodi Boathouse on Sunday, May 10, 2026. Rent a kayak at the Lodi Boathouse or bring your own for the event. Launch will begin at am. Launch begins at 8:30am and paddle begins at 9am.
Little Labs takes place every second Sunday at Verge Center for the Arts in Sacramento for toddlers. Little Labs will take place on Sunday, May 10, 2026. Kids will get to do sensory fun art projects.
A Mother’s Day Skate will take place on Sunday, May 10, 2026 at The Rink in Sacramento. All girls receive free skate rentals from 1pm to 5pm.
