What’s New for Kids in Sacramento — And What’s Coming in 2026

I will continue to stand on my soapbox and shout from the rooftops that Sacramento is an incredible place to raise kids. This whole list backs me up on that, as tons of kid-friendly spots have recently opened in the Sacramento area.

From new indoor play spaces to playgrounds and attractions, more new spots for families than you may realize have recently opened in Sacramento. I also have an exciting preview of kid-friendly openings coming in 2026, which include new parks, splash pads, and even more indoor play spaces in Sacramento for kids.

New Indoor Play Spaces in Sacramento

1. Funbox Sacramento — Natomas

Kids get to bounce off the walls, slide, and jump for joy at this inflatable playground in Natomas. While most indoor playgrounds cater to younger children, the teens can enjoy this one. Children of all ages will love Funbox, especially on hot or rainy days in Sacramento. There’s also a dedicated area for babies to bounce around. 2. Peek-A-Boo Factory — Rancho Cordova

There is no shortage of indoor play spaces in Sacramento for kids. The newest one on the scene is Peek-A-Boo Factory in Rancho Cordova. It’s a large indoor, three-story playground, ideal for children ages 0-12. Highlights are the moving Mario wall, the timed ninja obstacle course, and the magic screen that brings creative drawings to life. Learn what to expect at Peek-A-Boo Factory in Rancho Cordova.

3. Village Park Playground — Fair Oaks

Village Park is a centerpiece of Fair Oaks, and recently, its playground got a major facelift. The new, modern playground features a large, teal tube slide and unique climbing equipment. Local parents have stated that the playground is better suited for kids ages five and above, as the climbing equipment proves challenging for younger children.

4. Galt Sports Complex — Galt

The city of Galt got its first-ever sensory playground at the Galt Sports Complex. My kids loved playing with the musical instruments. There are some additional cool elements, such as a balance beam and parent face-to-face swings. The Galt Sports Complex has a toddler playground and a playground for older children. 5. Cattails Creek Park — Elk Grove

A new playground recently opened for families in Elk Grove. There are two play structures at Cattails Creek Park: one for toddlers and a separate one for older kids. Check out the Cattails Creek Park playground in my Instagram Reel. There are interesting climbing features, a web swing, a spinner, and an interactive animal sounds game. I’ll be honest with you, though. There are better playgrounds in Elk Grove. While I’m all about a new playground opening, this one isn’t worth going out of the way for.

6. Memorial Park — Rocklin

Memorial Park is a pillar park for the Rocklin community. The new Memorial Park playground is train-themed, paying tribute to Rocklin’s railway and granite-mining history. It’s a small playground, but it’s in a popular, high-traffic park that hosts many annual events in Rocklin. Tip: There’s a wooden train structure kids can play and climb on feet away.

7. Power Playground & Placer County Soccer Complex — Roseville

With a need for more inclusive playgrounds in the Sacramento area, Roseville answered the call. The new Power Playground is at the equally new Placer County Soccer Complex. Power Playground is a universally accessible playground. Some accessible features include ramps for complete access to the main play structure, wheelchair-friendly swings, a track ride with wheelchair access, a generational adaptive swing, and quiet zones.

The Place County Soccer Complex is also impressive, with 10 huge turf fields. In addition to the usual sports of soccer, lacrosse, flag football, and more, Harry Potter fans can enjoy playing Quidditch on the fields.

New Splash Pad in Sacramento Area

8. Natalie’s Corner — Davis

Davis recently unveiled a brand-new splash pad, and it’s easily one of the best splash pads in Sacramento for kids. Natalie’s Corner splash pad is in Central Park in Davis, a prime location in the center of the city where the Davis Farmers Market is held. It’s very walkable to many restaurants and shops.

What makes this splash pad stand out? A huge interactive water table, water cannons, waterfalls to run through, and lots of various animal sprayers. Most splash pads use natural ground as the flooring, but this one has vibrant green and blue floors, making it extra attractive and kid-friendly. New Family-Friendly Attractions in Sacramento

9. The BLVD! — West Sacramento

West Sacramento got a brand-new entertainment venue earlier this year. With state-of-the-art arcade games, laser tag, bowling, and kid-friendly dining choices, parents will love The BLVD! just as much as kids. See The BLVD! in action in my Instagram Reel.

10. Escapology — Downtown Sacramento

A new escape room opened in downtown Sacramento at the end of 2025. There are kid-friendly escape rooms, such as Scooby-Doo and the Spooky Castle adventure. Escapology also stands out for its available Kids Mode, which is something you don’t see at most escape rooms. Kids get a detective checklist that guides them through the room with visual hints.

11. Cosmic Claw Arcade — Elk Grove

Claw machines are a big trend, and Elk Grove got its first standalone claw machine this year. The Cosmic Claw Machine is better suited for older kids who have the patience to attempt to win one of the many prizes from the claw machines. As the name implies, Cosmic Claw Arcade is space-themed. It also has a photobooth.

12. Altitude Trampoline Park — Folsom

Kids can bounce over to a new trampoline park that opened in Folsom. Besides trampolines, Altitude Trampoline Park also offers basketball, dodgeball, trapeze swings, and a variety of other activities for kids to release their nonstop energy.

New Places for Kid’s Classes in Sacramento

13. D-Bat — Elk Grove

If your kids love baseball or softball but the hot or rainy weather prevents them from hitting the diamond, D-Bat in Elk Grove has indoor batting cages. It’s perfect for kids who want to hone their swinging, hitting, or pitching skill sets. The batting cages have cool technology where you can choose to hit the ball in any Major League baseball stadium. Check out D-Bat in my Instagram Reel.

14. Tutu School — Elk Grove

Tiny dancers can twirl and spin at a new dance school that opened in Elk Grove. While there’s already a Tutu School in Sacramento, a new location of the dance outpost opened in Elk Grove. Tutu School offers ballet for children ages 6 months to 8 years old.

15. The Little Gym — Elk Grove

Elk Grove has seen several new family-friendly openings recently, and The Little Gym was another one. The Little Gym caters to children of all ages. Parents can join babies and toddlers to help younger children hone fine motor skills, while older children can flip and tumble in gymnastics classes.

We enrolled our 1-year-old earlier this year, but I recommend that your kids be walking before potentially joining to get the most out of the classes. He would pretty much sit there and play with balls. The Little Gym also has many events throughout the year, open to non-members, which I tend to add to the Sactown Supermom Events Calendar.

16. Glittery Slime Parlour — Folsom

Creative kids who love getting messy will appreciate Glittery Slime Parlour, where they can make their own slime. While the Glittery Slime Parlour was already in the Westfield Galleria at Roseville, they recently opened a second location at the Palladio in Folsom.

What’s Coming in 2026: New Things to Do in Sacramento with Kids

From new indoor play spaces to new playgrounds and splash pads, there’s a lot for families to look forward to in Sacramento in 2026. I’m keeping my eye on these awesome openings for kids!

17. Enchanted Rocklin — Rocklin

Enchanted Elk Grove and Enchanted Natomas are two of the best indoor play spaces in Sacramento for kids. In early 2026, they’ll open their 3rd location—Enchanted Rocklin. I can tell you that I’ve already had a preview of the space, and it’s pretty awesome. The indoor play space has a modern farm theme with slides, ball pits, an apple tree volcano climber, and imaginative play areas. There are several safe play areas for the littlest ones to explore.

18. We Rock the Spectrum — Rocklin

In addition to Enchanted, Rocklin will also get We Rock the Spectrum. If you haven’t heard of We Rock Spectrum, it’s an indoor sensory gym for kids of all abilities. The gym will feature sensory equipment designed for individuals with sensory processing disorders and those on the autism spectrum. This gym is a welcome addition to the Sacramento area, offering kids a fun and sensory-safe space to play. We Rock the Spectrum will open in early 2026.

19. Wonder PlayZone — Folsom

Folsom will also gain a brand-new indoor play space in spring 2026. Parents will have a modern, comfortable co-working space with cafe options, while kids climb and play on the indoor playground. There’s a rope bridge, slides, tunnels, and more for kids to explore. Wonder PlayZone will be an exciting addition to the list of indoor playgrounds in Sacramento.

20. Westacre Park — West Sacramento

I’m pretty excited about the opening of Westacre Park in West Sacramento, mainly because of the playground structure. Kids will climb through a school bus where there will be a tunnel slide through a bus window for them to slide through. There are already photos of the playground structure, and it looks super cool. In addition to a new playground, the park will also get a new splash pad and skate park. Westacre Park opens in spring 2026.

21. Heritage Oaks Park — West Sacramento

West Sacramento is not messing around when it comes to opening new parks and playgrounds for the community. In addition to Westacre Park, they will also open Heritage Oaks Park, which is undergoing a major renovation. Heritage Oaks Park will include an inclusive playground with an ADA spinner and swing, a river-themed spray ground, and a BMX skills course. Emile’s Cafe is at the center of this park, which recently opened in 2025.

Once this park is complete, Heritage Oaks Park will be a fantastic destination in West Sacramento for kids. The park is due to open in summer 2026.

22. Museum of Illusions — Downtown Sacramento

A new museum is coming to Sacramento. While this museum won’t focus on education or learning, it will be more for show and entertainment. Think lots of photo ops in optical illusion settings. Kids will have a blast exploring the interactive scenes. The Museum of Illusions is due to open in spring 2026 in Downtown Sacramento.

23. Rotary Park Splash Pad — Roseville

Roseville will gain a new splash pad as of Memorial Day 2026. Rotary Park in Roseville will add a new splash pad just in time for summer. The park will also get a pickleball court and an X-Treme Ninja Course.

24. The Hot Spot Studios Sacramento — Delta Shores

Families can paint pottery, create mosaics, and produce their own art together at the new Hot Spot Studios in Sacramento. There’s even slime making, which is especially fun for younger kids. The Hot Spot Studios Sacramento opens at the end of January at Delta Shores.

25. Elk Grove Library — Elk Grove

The Elk Grove Library is relocating to a new home and will move to 9260 Elk Grove Boulevard. I don’t know many details yet; however, the concept art shows a children’s outdoor library patio, so I’ll be interested to learn more about that. The Elk Grove Library is due to open in spring 2026.

26. FunTown Safari Miniature Golf — Lodi

While there are some mini golf courses in Sacramento, we could definitely use more. A brand-new mini golf course is opening in Micke Grove Park in Lodi, adjacent to the Lodi Zoo. The mini golf course will feature a 9-hole course for children, a full 18-hole mini golf course, and a children’s play zone, among other amenities. The mini golf course was going to open in 2025, but was delayed. Hopefully, we’ll get this new attraction in 2026.

Micke Grove Park in Lodi already has the Lodi Zoo, a splash pad, several playgrounds, and a Japanese Garden. It’s a fun day for kids in Lodi, and mini golf will only add to the experience. Check out what to expect at Micke Grove Park in my Instagram Reel.

27. Fun City Adventure Park — Citrus Heights

The Sacramento area will welcome a new trampoline park in 2026. Fun City Adventure Park will open a new trampoline park in the Citrus Grove Shopping Center in Citrus Heights. Expect foam pits, climbing walls, a zipline, a ninja warrior obstacle course, a bubble soccer field, and more. Although there is no set opening date yet, rumors suggest that Fun City Adventure Park may open in early 2026.
