Create a mini ofrenda with the Sacramento History Museum on Saturday, November 1, 2025. This event is for all ages. Kids will get to make a mini shoebox ofrenda. The workshop will begin at the Sacramento History Museum to view the museum's Día de los Muertos exhibition. The workshop will then move over to the Hastings Annex building at 1002 2nd Street in Old Sacramento. Spots are limited and registration is required.

Celebrate Veterans Day at the Aerospace Museum at their Veterans Open Cockpit Day on Tuesday, November 11, 2025. Kids can get into the cockpits of historical aircraft for a unique experience. There will also be hands-on crafts, letter writing to veterans, and family-friendly activities.

Drive over to the California Automobile Museum for Cars and Cocoa with Santa & Mrs Claus on Sunday, December 7, 2025. Take photos with Santa in a 1968 Fairlane Convertible. Photos with Santa are included with museum admission. Hot cocoa will be available for sale.
MOSAC will have a Holiday Community Craft Fair on Saturday, December 13, 2025. Kids will get to decorate an ornament and check out the museum's new snowflake exhibit. The Wonder Grove and the Sacramento Public Library will be at the event with hands-on activities. This even is from 10am to 2pm and is included with regular museum admission.
The California Automobile Museum premieres their newest exhibit about Route 66 on Saturday, January 31, 2026. To celebrate the newest exhibit, there will be kids' activities, music, and food from a local vendor from 11am to 3pm. Event is included with regular museum admission.

The 15th annual UC Davis Biodiversity Museum Day is Saturday, February 21, 2026, where museums/collections will open their doors for free to the public. This event aims to inspire young kids to pursue careers in science. This event is free and family-friendly. Free parking is also available at all the institutions.

Space-themed treats will be available in the museum cafe and dressing up as your favorite astronaut, alien, and space explorer is encouraged for a costume contest.
The California Automobile Museum will have a celebration for its Carburetor Corners Opening Event on Saturday, August 1, 2026. Prepare for kids to get dirty at Mess Fest at the Sacramento Children's Museum on Saturday, August 29, 2026. Kids are encouraged to dress for messy fun in either a swimsuit, play clothes, or rain boots. There will be sticky, gooey, messy, and dirty fun. A wash-off station will be available. A change of clothes is also recommended.
