Kids of all ages can join the Folsom Lake State Recreation Area Interpretation Team for a winter scavenger hunt on Saturday, January 17, 2026. While this event is free, pre-registration is encouraged and these events fill up quickly.
Ride Ready Mini Clinics will take place on Monday, January 19, 2026 at Lakeside Church in Folsom at the winter warm-up short track race. Kids ages 4 through 8th grade can participate in a variety of free bike clinics throughout the day—just bring a helmet. Clinics vary from beginner racing to fixing a flat bike tire.
World Ballet Company will perform Swan Lake with A Live Orchestra on Tuesday, February 10 & Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at Harris Center for the Arts in Folsom. This show is for ages 5+ and runs 2 hours and 30 minutes, which incudes a 20-minute intermission.
Peppa Pig: My First Concert will be performed on Sunday, February 15, 2026 at the Harris Center for the Arts in Folsom. Children ages 18 months+ will get to enjoy music from the show from a live orchestra at this interactive introductory concert.

This one-hour concert will feature Benjamin Britten’s beloved The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra and will be narrated by Omari Tau. All ages and abilities are welcome to attend the event. Kids ages 3-6 can participate in the Balance Bike Bash where t hey can pedal on balance bikes through Historic Folsom.
Celebrate Folsom's 80th Birthday Celebration at a free community party on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at Folsom City Lions Park. There will be entertainment, carnival games, and lots of family fun. The 1st 500 youth guests will also get free entry to the Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary.

Participants will receive a commemorative snail race t-shirt at this family-friendly tradition. Youth may participate. Contests will also include best snail home presentation, best named, and best dressed snail handler.

Take Note Troupe will put on a free family-friendly Shakespeare in the Park performance of Taming of the Shrew in 2026 at multiple Sacramento area venues. All shows begin at 7:30pm and are completely free to attend. The whole family will enjoy this comedic performance and annual summer tradition.
