The Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary will celebrate black bears during Black Bear Awareness Weekend on Saturday, May 31, 2025, and Sunday, June 1, 2025. There will be interactive activities, educational tables, and special black bear feedings and trainings.
The Folsom Parks & Recreation Department will have free Family Movie Nights for three nights during the summer at different Folsom venues.
Wild Nights and Holiday Lights returns to the Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary in December 2025. The zoo is transformed into a holiday wonderland with tons of twinkling lights. The Folsom Valley Railway miniature train also provides nighttime rides through holiday lights.
Owl Be Your Valentine at the Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary takes place on Saturday & Sunday, February 14 & 15, 2026. Craft a valentine for your favorite zoo animal from 10am to 1pm.
Celebrate Folsom's 80th Birthday Celebration at a free community party on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at Folsom City Lions Park. There will be entertainment, carnival games, and lots of family fun. The 1st 500 youth guests will also get free entry to the Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary.
