While several Sacramento aquatic centers have water slides for families to enjoy on hot days, the water slides at White Rock Splash Park are only $1. Now, that $1 price tag does come with a time limit, height restrictions, and lots of rules. This is an ideal splash pad in Sacramento for older kids.

Why Families Love White Rock Splash Park
The water slides are the main draw at White Rock Splash Park, but there are plenty of other fun water play features for kids. So, even if you have younger kids who are too short for water slide rides, they’ll still be able to play at the many other water play features at this splash pad.
That said, you might want to steer clear of this splash park if you feel your not-yet-tall-enough kids will keep asking, “When can I go on the water slides?” Such is the case for my tall 4-year-old who can’t go on the slides yet.
My advice? If you’ve got not-tall-enough-yet adventurous kids who would go down the water slides 20 times in a row, take a day trip to the Larkey Park Sprayground in Walnut Creek. It’s a splash pad with water slides that have no height restrictions. It also does not go into a wading pool and includes other fun water play features and sprayers, making it possible for toddlers to go on water slides in a safe environment (and yes, there’s a lifeguard at the splash pad!).
Now, back to the many fun water play features at White Rock Splash Park. In addition to two water slides (more on that below), the splash park features:

Water Slide Information & Height Requirements
Since White Rock Splash Park is the only splash pad with water slides in the Sacramento area, there are several rules and restrictions. One of the most important things to know about White Rock Splash Park is that the water slides have height restrictions.
There are two water slides at White Rock (orange and yellow), and each has different height restrictions. Each kid is measured with their shoes off to confirm they are tall enough for the water slides. The orange slide is smaller while the yellow slide is longer, which is why each has different height restrictions.

- 42 inches / 3’6”
Yellow Slide Height Restrictions
- 46 inches / 3’10”
White Rock Splash Park Cost
The cost for kids to go on the water slides is $1. Note that this is per session. The splash park hours are open for 3 sessions each day. If you plan to stay for more than one session, kids need to exit the splash park, re-join the line for the next session, and pay an additional $1.
So, let’s say you go to 2 splash park sessions in one day, it would cost a total of $2 ($1 per session). Note that there’s no guarantee you’ll be able to stay for a 2nd session. The splash park has a capacity, and on busy hot weekends, there can be a line of kids waiting to get into the splash pad. There is a 90-person capacity limit per session.
Important: The $1 fee for the water slides is cash only! Kids will receive a wristband to wear during their splash park session after paying. The wristbands help the lifeguards know which children have access to the water slides.
If kids aren’t planning to use the water slides, the White Rock Splash Park is free to use.

Take my advice: take a day trip to Walnut Creek for an ultimate summer day, and let toddlers test out water slides at the Larkey Park Sprayground, which has no height restrictions.

If you really want to tire kids out, take them to the three-story indoor playground at Peek-A-Boo Factory in the morning, and White Rock Splash Park in the afternoon. Peek-A-Boo Factory is an indoor playground that older kids may enjoy more than other indoor playgrounds in Sacramento. It has some more challenging elements, like a timed ninja course, arcade games, and a moving Super Mario wall.
Feed Farm Animals at Hagan Community Barn
When planning to go to White Rock Splash Park on a Saturday, a visit to feed farm animals at Hagan Community Barn could be first on the list. Kids can feed farm animals for $5 (cash only for up to a family of 4) from 10am to 12pm on most Saturdays.

The Sacramento Children’s Museum is a short drive from White Rock Splash Park. The museum is better for younger kids who might not meet the water slide height requirements, but it’s worth adding as an option.
