A Hidden Gem in Folsom: Unique Water Play at Livermore Community Park
Livermore Community Park in Folsom stands out as a summertime destination as its water play area is a bit different than most typical splash pads. There are so many splash pads in the Sacramento area that provide kids with fun and free ways to cool down during the summer. Typically, splash pads have water spraying from the ground or sprouting from themed statues and elements.
Livermore Community Park, however, has a unique water play area that offers an unexpected and entertaining water play experience. While Elk Grove has 12 splash pads, Folsom only has three. Livermore Community Park has one of those three splash pads. Though it’s categorized as a spray park, it’s a distinct must-do summer activity near Sacramento.

Creekside Fun at Livermore Community Park
The water play area at Livermore Community Park has a historic mining flume that creates a cascading waterfall into a basin. Note that the basin is quite slippery, and kids will want to run at it at full speed.
The water then flows into a shallow, rock-lined creek that curves throughout the water play area. Kids will love splashing around in the creek-like area and filling up buckets with water. This is an imaginative water play area that feels like a fun escape into nature while still having all the amenities nearby.

Livermore Community Park is a hidden gem in Folsom. The park also has lots of shade. You could easily set up a blanket under the trees while remaining close to the water play area.
What I also liked about this water play area was that it felt more relaxing than a usual splash pad. In the summer, splash pads are popular for kids of all ages. You have to keep a watchful eye on your kiddos, especially if they are on the younger side. This particular water play area has a very calm atmosphere, with most kids just remaining in one place along the creek.
Other Park Amenities for Your Visit

The restrooms are near the water play area. You also don’t need to walk far from the parking lot as the water area is next to it. A covered pavilion is next to the water play area with multiple picnic tables and lots of shade cover.
Additional Things to Do in Livermore Community Park
Besides the main attraction of the water play area in the summer, Livermore Community Park also has a sand volleyball court.
Additionally, there is a playground with a zip line. Do know that the playground is in full sun and will likely be too hot for kids during certain times of day in the summer months. The park has regular swings and bucket swings for babies.
