This year, families need help more than ever to put a Thanksgiving meal on the table. So many Americans are struggling to pay for everyday basic food items, let alone a turkey for Thanksgiving. Thankfully, incredible organizations and food banks will be hosting free turkey giveaways for the Sacramento community.
Families in need can attend these free turkey giveaways for a chance to put a Thanksgiving turkey on the dinner table. Hopefully, these turkey giveaways provide a little relief to those facing challenges.

Sacramento Turkey Giveaways & Holiday Food Distributions 2025
Joey’s Food Locker will be having a free Turkey Giveaway for families in need on Friday, November 21, 2025 in South Natomas. Families must pre-register on Oasis to receive turkey and sides. Turkey giveaway is first come, first serve. Walk-up or drive-thru is allowed.
Shelby’s Way will be having a free Thanksgiving dinner basket giveaway on Friday, November 21, 2025 in Rancho Cordova from 12-2pm. Giveaway will include a Thanksgiving box with holiday fixings and a gift card OR a frozen turkey. All are welcome and sign-ups are not required.
South Sacramento Christian Center’s Annual Thanksgiving Food & Turkey Giveaway Drive-Thru will take place on Saturday, November 22, 2025. Free turkey giveaway begins at 7:30am until supplies last. Families must remain in vehicle and are limited to two families per car. Walk-up services only for those without a vehicle. Bring your ID and arrive early.
The Stockton Boulevard Community Development Corporation will be having its annual Turkeys-To-Go giveaway on Saturday, November 22, 2025. The turkey giveaway will begin at 8am while supplies last until 10am. Visitors must remain in their cars and enter on Jansen Dr. behind Firestone Auto Care. Limited to 1 turkey per car.
The Yolo County Children’s Alliance will host their annual Community Giveaway Day on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at River City High School in West Sacramento. Proof of Yolo County residence is required to receive resources. There will be free Thanksgiving meal kits and free coats and blankets. Event is first-come, first-serve.
A free Thanksgiving Drive-Thru Turkey Giveaway will take place on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Cosumnes River College in Parking Lot E. Free turkeys will be distributed starting at 9am until supplies last. Visitors must remain in the car and enter from Calvine Road only. Limited to 1 turkey per family.
River City Food Bank will be having a free Holiday Food Distribution on Saturday, November 22, 2025 in Arden. The distribution will take place at The Center at St. Matthew’s in Arden beginning at 10:30am and will include healthy, holiday-inspired groceries (no frozen turkeys). Must be present to receive food.
BYLP HQ will be having its annual Love Thy Neighbor Turkey Giveaway on Saturday, November 22, 2025 in Elk Grove. RSVP is required. Turkey giveaway is drive-thru pickup only. Limited to one turkey per family. RSVP here.
Harvest of Hope will be supporting families in need on Saturday, November 22, 2025 in Orangevale, distributing frozen turkeys and dinners. This free event will also have fun activities for kids, direct access to organizations, local services, and community resources.
Ceaze the Moment will be having a free Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway on Sunday, November 23, 2025 in Oak Park. They plan to distribute 500 turkeys to families in need, which are first come, first serve starting at 8am. Turkeys limited to 1 per family/vehicle.
Paradise Missionary Baptist Church will have a free Thanksgiving Food Boxes Giveaway on Monday, November 24, 2025. The giveaway begins at 10am and is free to the whole community.
A free Holiday Food Distribution will take place on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 in North Highlands. Food boxes and gift cards will be available at the event (no frozen turkeys). Limited to 1 family while supplies last starting at 8:30am.
River City Food Bank will be having a free Holiday Food Distribution on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 in Midtown Sacramento. The distribution will take place at 1800 28th Street beginning at 10:30am and will include healthy, holiday-inspired groceries (no frozen turkeys). Must be present to receive food.
