Halloween Displays in Sacramento: Where to See the Best Ones

Driving around to see Halloween displays in Sacramento has become just as popular as seeing Christmas lights in Sacramento. These homeowners take their Halloween displays to the next level with interactive spooky walk-throughs, scavenger hunts, and spooky displays that will scare and awe. Many on the list are also kid-friendly and will be spooky without being scary.

Checking out Halloween displays tops the list of must-do fall activities in Sacramento for families. I have personally visited almost all the homes on this list in 2026 and was very impressed by their elaborate displays.

Tips for Visiting Halloween Displays in Sacramento

Sacramento area homes with next-level Halloween displays can get very busy. It’s best to visit on weeknights to avoid crowds, if you can. Keep a watchful eye on kids when seeing homes at night.

As always, please be respectful when visiting Halloween displays by not blocking driveways, playing in neighbors’ yards, or leaving trash. These homeowners want to ensure they can continue doing their Halloween displays for the Sacramento community for years to come!

Some Halloween displays are great to see during the daytime, but it can make a big difference to see the full effect of these homes at night. Check the operating days and times of Halloween displays, as some are only open during the evening, on weekends, etc.

Best Halloween Displays in Sacramento 2026

Oak Park Halloween House
The Oak Park Halloween House is one of the best Halloween displays in Sacramento.

Oak Park Halloween House

One of the top Halloween displays in Sacramento is the Oak Park Halloween House. This home has every inch of the exterior decorated in spooky scenes. Decorations keep going and going around the corner. I’ve seen it in the daytime, but can only imagine how next-level it is at night. On Halloween, they even have fire dancers at the house. Check out the Oak Park Halloween House in my Instagram Reel.

Tip: If you plan to see it in the morning, grab a coffee and pastry from the nearby Faria Bakery.

Pirates of Pesaro Halloween Display in Lincoln
Pirates of Pesaro takes Halloween to the next level with a full street display!

Pirates of Pesaro β€” Lincoln

You will feel like you left the Sacramento area and walked the plank onto Disneyland’s Pirates of the Caribbean ride at this Halloween display. This isn’t in front of a home; it’s a display spanning the entire street! Of all the Halloween displays I’ve seen, this is one of the most kid-friendly, since the skeleton pirate scenes are fun and not scary. My toddlers were cracking up at a skeleton making farting noises in an outhouse.

The scope and detail of Pirates of Pesaro is incredibly impressive. One homeowner sets it all up, and his neighbors let him use their yards for the display. You’ll need more time than you think here, and you’ll likely circle the street a few times. Want to know what to expect? Check out my Pirates of Pesaro Instagram Reel.

There’s also a free scavenger hunt for kids! It adds a fun interactive element to the experience. There are various scavenger hunts that kids can choose to complete. Kids receive a free treat when they return their scavenger hunt sheet.

Amalfi & Solara β€” Lincoln

On the way to Pirates of Pesaro, my son spotted Halloween decorations across from Aitken Ranch Park in Lincoln. A few houses went all out at Amalfi & Solara. You’ll see huge animatronics, a house with a light tunnel, and a headless horseman on Amalfi Way, Solara Place, and Amalfi Court. Combine it with Pirates of Pesaro while in Lincoln.

East Village Bookshop Halloween Scavenger Hunt in East Sacramento
You might come across a giant pumpkin and more fun surprises during the East Village Bookshop Halloween Scavenger Hunt.

East Village Bookshop Halloween Scavenger Hunt (Fab 40s)

Some houses in the Fab 40s are known for over-the-top decorations, especially for holiday lights. Many homes also decorate for Halloween. However, the Fab 40s is widely spread out, so it can be difficult to know where to see Halloween displays in East Sacramento. That’s where the East Village Bookshop comes in.

Each year, the East Village Bookshop does a free Halloween Scavenger Hunt. All of the homes are near their East Sacramento location, and many are in the Fab 40s. The homes aren’t as close as you might think. While some are walkable to each other, it’s a pretty spread-out scavenger hunt that requires driving and re-parking in certain areas.

In my opinion, their scavenger hunt is the best way to see Halloween displays in the Fab 40s. It leads you to the best Halloween decorations. After you complete the scavenger hunt, return it to the bookstore to receive a free popsicle! Kids can also select a trinket from their treasure chest. A discount is given for a book purchase that day.

Preview of the East Village Bookshop Halloween Scavenger Hunt in my Instagram Reel! Note: There are two East Village Bookshop locations, but the one in East Sacramento has the Halloween scavenger hunt.

Kiwanis Club of Laguna-Elk Grove Halloween Home Tour

Each year, the Kiwanis Club of Laguna-Elk Grove hosts a Halloween Home Tour. Any home in Elk Grove can sign up for the tour if they think their Halloween decorations go above and beyond. This is a yearly fundraiser for the Kiwanis Club. To find where to go in Elk Grove to see Halloween displays, you’ll need to purchase a $10 map.

The Halloween Home Tour is spread out throughout Elk Grove. If you commit to buying a map early in October, you get a Halloween swag bag. The homes may change each year. The maps are sent out in mid-October. Those who purchase a map can then vote on their favorite decorated homes.

Tip: They also host a holiday home tour to see Christmas lights in Elk Grove (and that one is free).

This is a train ride, but it’s meant to admire their over-the-top Halloween decorations. This free train ride in Elk Grove circles the perimeter of a family’s home. Phantom Manor Halloween Display in South Natomas
You will feel like you entered the Haunted Mansion at Phantom Manor.

Phantom Manor β€” South Natomas

One of Sacramento’s best Halloween displays is Phantom Manor. This interactive walk-through is like the Haunted Mansion. Expect a moving candelabra, a self-stirring potion bubbling in a cauldron, plus spooky projections around every corner. It’s really something to see.

Families will love this immersive Halloween display, and there’s an interactive scavenger hunt. The scavenger hunt is available via a mobile app. There are different difficulty levels. Disney fans will appreciate all the hidden nods. This is a very fun Halloween display to check out!

See what to expect at Phantom Manor in my Instagram Reel. Phantom Manor is open from October 29-31, 2026. It opens at 7pm each night, but closing times vary. On Halloween, it runs until 11pm.

Rockmont Circle β€” Natomas

Rockmont Circle in North Natomas is one of the best places to see Christmas lights in Sacramento. During Halloween, the neighborhood also goes all out. It’s a popular spot for Halloween decorations in Sacramento, so prepare for crowds, especially on weekends.

Jenny Lynn Way β€” Elk Grove

While this home is on the Halloween Home Tour in Elk Grove, I have to share it with you, as it’s one of the best Halloween displays near Sacramento I’ve seen this year. The property is full of animatronics and has some scarier decorations. There’s fog, animatronics popping out, a giant tarantula, and even rat projections on the sidewalk. It’s a Halloween sight to check out in Elk Grove.

Pumpkin Hollow Halloween Display in Elk Grove
Pumpkin Hollow is an impressive Halloween display in Elk Grove.

Pumpkin Hollow β€” Elk Grove

Another impressive Halloween display in Elk Grove is Pumpkin Hollow. This display is so amazing that passing cars were stopping in the middle of the street to tell the homeowner how much they loved their Halloween decorations. A large Jack Skellington stands on the roof, which is quite a sight. Don’t miss the ghost couple dancing on the lawn.

Nightmare on Farmgate Way in Citrus Heights Halloween Display
Nightmare on Farmgate Way has all the spooky vibes.

Nightmare on Farmgate Way β€” Citrus Heights

One of my favorite Halloween displays in the Sacramento area has been Nightmare on Farmgate Way in Citrus Heights. They have a corner property, so their front lawn is huge and spans almost two blocks. There are tons of lights, fog, dragons, and tombstones. It’s just a really great spooky display. It’s also not scary, so it’s a good one for families.

Take a look at my visit to Nightmare on Farmgate Way in my Instagram Reel.

Campfire Haunt in Citrus Heights Halloween Display
Campfire Haunt in Citrus Heights has an entire show on Saturday evenings.

Campfire Haunt β€” Citrus Heights

When visiting Nightmare on Farmgate Way, combine it with Campfire Haunt, which is also nearby in Citrus Heights. I visited Campfire Haunt on a weeknight this year, but Saturday evenings are when you should see this house in all its Halloween glory, as they do a whole show. This one involves an interactive walk-through where you’ll walk under a gigantic awning adorned with skeletons that spit pyrotechnics.

On Saturday evenings, spooky characters sit on a Game of Thrones-style iron throne atop the awning. They also have tons of animatronic displays going strong. I wish I had seen it in its full capacity! In 2026, they will be open on Friday, October 30, and Saturday, October 31. If you love all things Halloween, this is definitely a Halloween display near Sacramento you don’t want to miss.

Buena Vista Lights Halloween Light Show β€” Fair Oaks

Buena Vista Lights is known for its Christmas lights show, but in October, they get into spooky season with a synchronized Halloween Light Show. In 2026, the light show runs nightly from October 20 – 31, from 6pm to 10pm. During their Halloween Light Show, they will also be accepting food and monetary donations for the Orangevale-Fair Oaks Food Bank.

Rockport Circle β€” Folsom

For Christmas lights in the Sacramento area, Rockport Circle is one of the best places to see them. It’s no different during October for Halloween decorations. Folsom hosts tons of great Halloween events for kids, so it’s easy to make a fall day in Folsom by combining fall activities with admiring Halloween displays at Rockport Circle.

πŸ“Rockport Circle, Folsom, CA

Smashing Pumpkins House β€” Elk Grove

Alternative rock fans of Billy Corgan will want to check out this house, as it’s an ode to the Smashing Pumpkins band. The home blasts Smashing Pumpkins songs on repeat. It has a skeleton band in the jam position behind a drum set. It’s a cool display that music fans will appreciate.

πŸ“Smashing Pumpkins House | 9993 Meadow Tree Ct, Elk Grove, CA

Flintstones Rock and Roll Halloween β€” Elk Grove

Elk Grove knows how to do nostalgic rock ‘n roll Halloween houses. This is another rock-themed one, which has a custom-made Flintstones car. The home’s front yard is on the smaller side, but it packs in a ton of Halloween sights, including a skeleton band. There are lots of flashing lights at this one. You can see what to expect in my Flintstones Rock and Roll Halloween Instagram Reel.

19th Ave & 61st St β€” Tahoe Park

In Tahoe Park, a group of houses at 19th Ave and 61st Street take Halloween decorating to the next level. Fantastic Halloween displays can be seen in this area, including the famous Tahoe Park pumpkin house.

Leland Stanford Mansion State Historic Park Halloween Tour

While this is not technically someone’s home, the free Halloween tours at the Leland Stanford Mansion are one of the best fall activities in Sacramento for families. Tours are 30 minutes and are free! While tours are free, tickets need to be reserved in advance (and they do go fast!). This is better for older kids, as the tours are for ages 8+.

If you can’t score the coveted free tickets to the Halloween tour at the Leland Stanford Mansion, checking out the exterior decorations is an option. The mansion always has beautiful fall and Halloween decorations, and it’s a popular fall photo spot in Sacramento.
