Folsom’s Railroad Legacy

FreeFolsom will have a free community celebration on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 to celebrate Folsom’s railroad milestones. Families can learn about Folsom’s railroad history. There will be a storytime at 1pm, birthday cake, hands-on activities, photo ops, and free admission to Historical Outdoor Museum “The Square” and the Folsom Railroad Museum.

- 10:15am – Turntable Demonstration
- 11am – Sacramento Valley Railroad, presented by Historian Paul Helman
- 12pm – Theodore Judah, presented by Historian Chuck Spinks
- 12:45pm – Birthday Cake for Theodore Judah (near the turntable)
- 1pm – Storytime with the Folsom Public Library at The Square
- 1pm – Anna Judah, presented by Historian Christine Pifer-Foote
Folsom’s Railroad Legacy will celebrate the completion of the Sacramento Valley Railroad connecting Sacramento to Folsom, as well as the birthday of Theodore Judah, who was the chief engineer of the Sacramento Valley Railroad.
