Batty’s Butterfly Release

The Sacramento Children’s Museum celebrates the role grandparents play at the annual Batty’s Butterfly Release on Sunday, September 7, 2025. Butterflies are limited and purchasing in advance is required. This will be an outdoor event that will include art projects, activities, vendors, and more.

Butterflies are locally sourced and released back into the wild at the event.

This event does not include museum admission. The museum will be closed during the event but will open at 12pm. Event attendees can stay and pay to play at a reduced admission rate.

Butterflies cost as follows:

• 1 butterfly – $30
• 2 butterflies – $50
• 5 butterflies – $100
