SUMMARY:Hike and Seek Scavenger Hunt
DESCRIPTION:Go on a family-friendly “hike and seek” scavenger hunt at Folsom Lake on Sunday\, March 2\, 2025. \nParticipants are provided with a scavenger hunt worksheet that will include things to find while trekking on the hike. It’s recommended to bring a writing utensil for the worksheet. \nThe hike will be a total out and back hike\, approximately 2.5 – 3 miles. The hike is pretty easy with some rocky and uneven terrain. There are only a few inclines. The exact location of the scavenger hunt will be provided after registering. \nRSVP is required to attend the event. \nAll ages are welcome to attend. Dogs are not allowed at the event. \nDon’t forget to bring water and sunscreen!

SUMMARY:First Day Hikes at Sutter's Fort
DESCRIPTION:Kick off the new year with the first-ever New Year’s Day Nature Walk at Sutter’s Fort State Historic Park and explore the important role urban parks play in supporting ecosystems and communities. Hikes take place at 11:30am and 1pm. \n \nThis accessible\, family-friendly tour takes you through the park’s rich landscape of native plants and stately oak trees. The guided walk follows smooth pathways winding between historic buildings and tranquil natural spaces\, with minimal elevation changes. A few areas venture onto open lawns\, offering up-close views of fascinating features. \nNote that the State Indian Museum and Sutter’s Fort will be closed for the holiday\, but the park grounds will be open for the hike. No registration is required for the event.  \nMeet Pointing: The bridge between the ponds in the center of the park (between the State Indian Museum and Sutter’s Fort). \nThe guided hikes are suitable for all skill levels\, with little-to-no elevation changes. Bring water and wear comfortable attire. \n  \n
